FREE Meals for ALL SCM Students

​School City of Mishawaka (SCM) is excited to be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for meals served on the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. This means ALL students enrolled at SCM are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at NO CHARGE each day of the 2024-2025 school year. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in the meal program without having to pay a fee.

Ala carte items will still be available for purchase. You can either send in cash, check or use MySchoolBucks for payment.

CEP pertains only to meals and does not extend to other educational benefits. Some examples of other educational benefits may include: resources that directly impact students, test/exam fee reduction or waiver, and eligibility for other discounts or program opportunities. In order for SCM to continue receiving additional funding and grants, we need all of our families to fill out a form that will be submitted to the State. The data from this form is used by the Department of Education to determine funding SCM will receive based on household income status.

The form will not be available to fill out until after school starts. We will notify you once it is available and how you can simply go online to fill it out. In the meantime, your child(ren) can receive free breakfast and lunch starting on the first day of school.

Menus may change without notice due to changing availability of food items from vendors. We are doing our best to ensure students receive the items listed on the menu. If that is not possible, students will still receive a complete nutritious meal.

All meals come with choices of milk, fruit, and juice (some days).

Make school lunch deposits and monitor your student’s account online at www.myschoolbucks.com.

From this site you will create your account and can add money to your child’s school meal account. All you need is your child’s name, student ID number and school ZIP code.

Things to know:

• If you have more than one child in the District you can handle all online prepayments from the same online account.
• Payments may be made through an existing PayPal account or with a major credit or debit card.

In order to use the online prepayment service, a small convenience fee for each transaction will be assessed to cover the bank fees. The convenience fee is $2.75 per deposit transaction. Parents placing money into multiple meal accounts will only be assessed the $2.75 fee once per deposit transaction. School City of Mishawaka does not profit from the use of this site.
